Nothing is right or wrong......

Well....I am trying it once more. And this time I will try my best. So here I start with my first attempt.

Nothing is right or wrong, Its all about how we think. I started thinking about what is really right and what is wrong. I was thinking today that we live our lives by doing things which are right today or are acceptable by masses today. And the reason I went in to this creative mode of thinking is that I did some things today which had a common base to share and every single thing was asking the same basic question and that is it right or wrong.

First one

Saw the movie Water (its about life of widows in India pre-independence). This movie keeps the very basic question that what is right or wrong and who decides it. And then very truly in the movie it also suggests that everyone adopts the change if it is in their favor or if it is accepted by masses at that time. So what was wrong for widows at one point is not truly applicable today. My thought is that if we realise that something needs to be changed today, we should atleast start the process in some way. Beacuse if it never gets started its never going to happen.

Second one

Read an article about comparing marriages and live-in relationships. Well we all know that the latter is the new trend. I don't know why but I always feel that I am a little too old for my age and kind of have the views closer to the previous generation. I am not judging anything, but we can find people who will be both towards and against the motion. So what may be right for some isn't right for others. Well,I think everyone should be free. No one really has the time to think what anyone else is doing. But its still about what we think about that even if we don't share it with anyone

Third one

A debate about Slum Dog Millionaire. Some people think that the stuff shown in the movie is hurting the image of India and while others think that its not. Some think that it was not good to show this kind of India to the entire World and then some have the view that movies are free to show everything and this movie has won so many Oscars and now everyone knows A.R. Rehman and it has bought more positive fame to India than negative image. I think its a good movie and I enjoyed it and yes had a little bit oftrouble explaining some stuff to my work friends. But what can you do. We can't run from the truth.

I guess there are so many other things everyone has in their minds which are like hard core right or wrong.

Honestly, a friend of mine in college told me that she used to write a daily diary and blog and I thought that there is seriously something wrong with her and I will never do or can't imagine myselk doing something like that. So now after some 4-5 yrs this is my post. Again there will be some who think that there is some thing wrong. But then what is really right or wrong?

  1. There is no such thing as right or wrong. That is the point that comes across and I can't agree more! Its all about perspective. Whats right for me might be wrong for you and vice versa. So live and let live right?

  2. Like this one.

    1. I was truly amazed when I saw this movie. I LOVED Chuhiya but my heart broke when I saw what her life was goign to be. Coincidentally I was telling my Puerto Rican friend about this movie just yday! I think somethings DO need to change, I mean its the purpose of your post. If each person should decide for themselves what to do, then the basis of widows beign exiled is damaged, because its just that, its the actions and mindset of ANOTHER that is being forced upon them, and for what reason, ...something so unrelated to them. HOnestly, I was ignorant, and I guess I was stuck in a bit of a bubble being from Bbay, so I didnt knwo the extent of the customs, but it bothers me no end. I think things are changing, but its a small wave, the hurricane still has to come and sweep the smaller places. That'll take time, but we cna live with hope.

    2. Live-in's are not perceived well, and growing up we associated it with 'loose' or 'how could you'? I think a lot of that has been swept out with the practicalities of life, I can say that personally. In the end its about happiness, live in or not, its still two people dealign with the SAME struggles, same duties, same love as a couple in a marriage (they have the paper though!) :)

Long comment! :) but I related to this post a lot, so there.

Yes live and let live is the idea. But sometimes it gets complicated due to one boundary or another.

I felt really sad after watching the movie. The idea is even if everyone thinks that something is right, then that doesn't mean that it actually is. It just means that everyone is lacking that little bit of smartness needed to assess the situation.
