I haven't been able to blog for some time as I was busy with so many things. But this is something which I really wanted to share.
I was going to New York on the last weekend and I got an exit row seat and the air hostess came and did her routine questioning about whether all the passengers seated in the exit row seat would be willing to cooperate in the event of an emergency and everyone nodded a big YES. When she left the guy sitting next to me joked and asked the same questions that whether I will be ok in case something happens. And I replied, Sir I will be absolutely fine and told him that in my previous flight I jumped out from the plane and still made it fine on the ground. I can't even explain the look this guy had on his face after hearing what I said. But then I didn't keep him suspense for too long and told him that I went for skydiving.
One of my colleagues at work (Chris) is a professional skydiver and he has been telling me all kinds of stories about skydiving. For the first time when I found out that he is a skydiver, I thought that man how can any one jump from a plane. But then he showed me so many videos and talked so much about the feeling of free fall that I decided that I will definitely give it a try.
I tried to find someone who was strong enough to join me for Skydiving. But everyone said that why to waste a perfectly fine flight by jumping out from it. Well for quite some time I just kept asking a lot of my friends but everyone suggested otherwise. I didn't even force or try to convince anyone as I was feeling kind of relieved that I was trying my best to do it but couldn't find anyone to jump with me. Then I made the mistake of saying it one of my friend Akrit. Now let me just tell you guys a little bit about Akrit. This girl is on a big project of facing her fears and she is doing a lot these days. She almost jumped after hearing skydiving and yes she really wanted to do it (I think even more than me). So now I was in the state of shock because finally there was someone who wanted to jump and my only reason for putting this thing on hold was also gone. So we finally showed up at the skydiving club in Houston.
Before I go any further its time to show the video. Here it is..... I am only putting up my video as Akrit hasn't uploaded her video yet and I think that my video is better.
I have to admit that I was really scared before the jump. I went to the restroom 4-5 times before putting on the jumping gear while Akrit was telling the instructors to do all the crazy things in the jump.
Well in the end it was out of the world experience. I loved it and will be doing it again. I thought that I was scared of jumping but then this jump totally changed everything.
And I absolutely love this video. Many Many thanks to Chris(colleague who got me in to it) Rich (Tandem instructor) and Alex (video guy).
And yes finally Thank you Akrit.
Let me know what you guys think.
